By: Brittany Nicole La Hue

Surprise! It’s Week 9 of the West Hollywood Summer of Music promotion! Yes, you heard right – the promotion was originally planned to span 8 weeks, but let’s be honest: we at the Marketing & Visitors Bureau just didn’t want the Summer of Music
to end. So as a bonus, we’re offering an extra 9th week of giveaways to our Facebook fans.

This week you’ll have the opportunity to win a 1-night stay at the tranquil bohemian hideaway Petit Ermitage and a $100 gift certificate to the famous rock’n’roll hotspot Rainbow Bar & Grill. It’s easy to enter to win: all you need is 2 minutes and a Facebook account. Enter to win HERE.

ABOUT THIS WEEK’S PRIZE PACKAGE

Petit Ermitage’s mindset can be described in the quote that emblazons all they have: “Bohemianism is a way of life. A state of mind. An atmosphere. It’s about living richly and irreverently, beyond convention. It’s about being uninhibited, unbuttoned, creative and free.”

An all-suite hotel, Petit Ermitage welcomes visitors from all walks of life, from artists to unconventional business travelers to enlightened thinkers. Guests are encouraged to enter the isolated and tranquil property and indulge in the laissez-faire lifestyle of the modern bohemian. The 80 suites feature king and queen beds, signature L’Ermitage mattresses, 618 thread count Egyptian cotton sheets, down comforters, fireplaces with handcrafted mantels, hand-woven Turkish carpets, sitting and dining areas, kitchenettes, wet bars, balconies and so much more. Order an in-suite spa service, enjoy the complimentary WiFi and play with your in-suite toy elephant.

If you ever gather up the desire to leave your suite, the rest of the hotel is waiting. The hallways feature an extensive private art collection begging for viewing. You’ll discover original works by Dali, Rauschenberg, Miro, DeKooning and Erte. Head upstairs to the Private Rooftop Club for one of the most private and exclusive venues in the city. The area is recognized as a Hummingbird and Butterfly Sanctuary by the National Wildlife Federation and  features native gardens, a heated saltwater pool (often scented with damask roses), cabanas, kumquat trees whose fruit is found in many cocktails, an outdoor sunken fireplace, lounge spaces and a stunning 360 degree view of the Hollywood Hills. The Executive Chef serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner daily, and during the summer months you’ll enjoy fresh Maine lobster and chilled champagne poolside.

The Butterfly Bar & Garden is also a must-see. Sunday mornings join the hotel for Gypsy Brunch, featuring the finest and freshest ingredients from the farmers market. You’ll also find exotic dishes like alligator sausage and mint and rabbit and rattlesnake rillettes. Sip on a Bloody Mary frm the cart while watching flamenco dancers perform. It’s an exotic and relaxing experience like no other.

You may recognize the Rainbow Bar & Grill from the Guns N’ Roses video for “November Rain,” or by the place where Marilyn Monroe and Joe DiMaggio met for a blind date, or when John Belushi ate his last meal at table #16, or maybe, most importantly, by their delicious food. The Rainbow Bar & Grill was founded in 1972 by Lou Adler, Elmer Valentine, Mario Maglieri and others, and kicked off with a party for Elton John. Back then, “rainbow” was meant to signify peace and freedom, and quickly became a celebrity hotspot. Over the years, notable regulars included John Lennon, Ringo Starr, Neil Diamond, Led Zeppelin, Alice Cooper, Janis Joplin, Motley Crue, Poison and Guns N’ Roses.

The restaurant has been featured in many songs and music videos. Above the restaurant is an exclusive club appropriately named “Over the Rainbow.” The club features a full bar, dance floor, and DJ booth.

However, you don’t have to be a rock star or a groupie to visit the Rainbow. You’ll find top-notch Italian and American food at the restaurant for lunch and dinner with your $100 gift card.
