Cast Your Vote – Election Day 2012

By: Brittany Nicole La Hue

We all know when Election Day is: it’s a week away, on Tuesday, November 6. We’re (mostly) decided on who and what we are going to vote for. But do you know where you can vote?

Voting has never been easier! This year, there will be thousands of polling places all across the United States to make exercising your democratic duty easy. However, if you didn’t receive your voting material in the mail, or are new to a neighborhood, finding out where to cast your vote can be confusing.

Luckily, Los Angeles County has set up a great website that makes finding your designated polling location literally a click away. Simply visit http://www.lavote.net/locator/, enter your street name and house number and click “Submit.” The locater will instantly tell you your polling place! If you still have questions, you can call the Los Angeles Registrar-Recorder’s office at 562.466.1323.

Not from Los Angeles County or want to help your friends and family’s voices to be heard? Visit http://abclocal.go.com/kabc/feature?section=news/politics/local_elections&id=7759388 for the same idea – enter your address and the website will tell you your voting location. You’ll also find out when your state’s polls close so that you can plan your Election Day accordingly!
