House of Blues is preparing to commemorate their 20-year anniversary with 20,000 performances during a 20-month period at their locations throughout the U.S. The 20 months of shows are meant to be the celebratory extravaganza of a lifetime.
The celebration has a kick off date of Dec. 4 with a legendary House of Blues Sunset Strip party and concert by the Texas-based Rock and Roll Hall of Famers, ZZ Top. House of Blues tours are currently being scheduled throughout the U.S featuring bands such as Flogging Molly. Plans for celebratory performances are in the works for the 38 clubs across the country.
During the 20-month period $1 will be donated for every ticket sold to the House of Blues Action for the Arts program.
This program encourages art, creativity and individual expression in communities across the U.S. The live music venues are also preparing to serve 20,000 Thanksgiving meals to those in need in honor of the anniversary.
For the love of unique American music, the first House of Blues opened on November 26, 1992 in Cambridge, Massachusetts by founder, Isaac Tigrett. Opening for the pure goal of introducing the world to the Rhythm and Blues, Gospel, Jazz and Roots-based Rock & Roll, Tigrett’s company was able to provide musical artists the opportunity to showcase their talent in front of a live audience. This opportunity helped several artists start their career in the music industry. Expanding enormously throughout the country, some of the best names of music history have performed at a House of Blues such as: Eric Clapton, Elton John, Aretha Franklin, Mary J. Blige, Foo Fighters, Rihanna, Justin Timberlake and Tupac, among others.
As one of West Hollywood's most memorable, high energy and legendary concert venues, those in the area are encouraged to participate in this once in a lifetime celebration. For those visiting the Los Angeles region on Dec. 4, this is the perfect event to attend to see what West Hollywood is all about. Tickets for this event are on sale now at www.livenation.com.
