West Hollywood Halloween Carnaval – Everything You Need to Know

It’s that time of the year again – The West Hollywood Halloween Carnaval! Every year, hundreds of thousands of revelers take to the streets and walk the boulevard to view some of the most imaginative costume creations.

You can also expect live entertainment on multiple dedicated stages, food vendors and access to the many bars, lounges, clubs and restaurants along the Halloween Carnaval route. Some will require an entrance fee. 

Although the event officially takes place from 6pm-11pm, patrons are posted at local spots all day and night up until the wee hours of the night. City officials normally keep the streets closed to automobile traffic until 6am the next morning. View pictures from past events here.

When: Wednesday, October 31st from 6pm – 11pm

Where: Along Santa Monica Boulevard from Doheny Drive to La Cienega Boulevard

Why: Because you deserve a night of fun. Come in costume or not.

Cost: Admission to the Carnaval is FREE

Parking: To help visitors, permit parking restrictions will be suspended by the City of West Hollywood from 11 a.m., Wednesday, October 31st to 6am, Thursday, November 1st. Parking meters are enforced.

Public parking for the West Hollywood Halloween Costume Carnaval will be available at the following locations for a fee:

City Hall Parking Lot ($20.00 fee) 8300 Santa Monica Boulevard Corner of Santa Monica Boulevard and Sweetzer

Kings Road Parking Structure ($20.00 fee) 8383 Santa Monica Boulevard Corner of Santa Monica Boulevard and Kings Road

The City of West Hollywood will be offering a CityLine service on Halloween during the usual hours of 5:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. The route will operate along Santa Monica Boulevard between La Cienega Boulevard and Fuller Avenue and Sunset Boulevard between La Cienega Boulevard and Horn Avenue.

Street Closures for Wednesday, October 31st

Due to the City of West Hollywood’s annual Halloween Costume Carnaval, the following streets will be temporarily CLOSED as follows:

  • San Vicente Boulevard between Melrose Avenue and Santa Monica Boulevard from 12 a.m., Wednesday, October 31 through 7 a.m., Thursday, November 1, 2012
  • Santa Monica Boulevard between Doheny Drive and La Cienega Boulevard including all side streets from 12 p.m. Wednesday, October 31 through 6 a.m., Thursday, November 1, 2012.
  • Robertson Boulevard between Melrose Avenue and Santa Monica Boulevard from 12 p.m., Wednesday, October 31 through 6 a.m., Thursday, November 1, 2012.
  • Almont Drive and La Peer Drive are closed from Santa Monica Boulevard to Melrose Avenue from 12 p.m., Wednesday, October 31 through 6 a.m., Thursday, November 1, 2012.
  • San Vicente Boulevard between Cynthia Street and Santa Monica Boulevard from 12 p.m., Wednesday, October 31 through 6 a.m., Thursday, November 1, 2012.
  • Santa Monica Boulevard between La Cienega Boulevard and Holloway Drive/Croft Avenue from 4 p.m. Wednesday, October 31 through 6 a.m., Thursday, November 1, 2012.
  • La Cienega Boulevard between Sunset Boulevard and Santa Monica Boulevard from 4 p.m., Wednesday, October 31 through 6 a.m., Thursday, November 1, 2012. ***Northbound La Cienega Boulevard is open between Holloway Drive and Sunset Boulevard.

Sunset Boulevard eastbound and westbound turn lanes onto La Cienega Boulevard from 4 p.m., Wednesday, October 31 through 6 a.m., Thursday, November 1, 2012.
