Zipcar Arrives in WeHo

Have you tried Zipcar yet? Zipcar is already one of the world’s leading car sharing networks. Created to reduce parking demand, pollution and traffic congestion, Zipcar is convenient and affordable.

So, how much does it cost? Zipcars can be reserved for as short as one hour ($8.75 on weekdays and $9.75 on weekends) or up to several days ($72 for 24 hours on weekdays and $79 on weekends). Seem expensive? Actually, rates include 180 miles maximum, gas, reserved parking spots, insurance and roadside assistance.

The Zipcar program has started with 10 vehicles in reserved on-street parking spots. Look for the Zipcar “pod” at these five locations throughoutWest Hollywood:

• Fountain Avenue east of Vista Street
• Orlando Avenue south of Santa Monica Boulevard
• Poinsettia Place north of Santa Monica Boulevard
• Orange Grove Avenue north of Santa Monica Boulevard
• Hancock Avenue north of Santa Monica Boulevard

The Zipcar program in West Hollywood is available to local residents and visitors, as well as to employees of local businesses through the company’s Zipcar for Business program that offers discounted driving Monday through Friday.
