If you haven’t heard about Instagram by now, you must have been living under a rock for the past year! But just in case you haven’t I will give you a little back-story. Instagram is an online photo-sharing and social media network that allows its users to take photos, add vintage-y digital filters to them, and share them on a plethora of social networking sites, such as Facebook and Twitter. Instagram has gained massive popularity, with over 100 million active users. Aside from personal accounts, many businesses have Instagram pages in an effort to access their core audiences. This includes a lot of really cool West Hollywood establishments. Let’s take a look at the trendiest and most fashionable WeHo Instagram accounts.

Check out The Roxy’s Instagram page for rock and roll style and fashion on the Sunset strip. In addition to stylish threads of the musically inclined, you can find great photos of art, craft beers and live performances. The Andaz Hotel also has a fun instagram page that will give you the retro feel of old Hollywood. Glamorous photo shoots that have taken place in the hotel with celebrities such as Jaime Priestly and Julia Voth are featured, as well as beautiful views of West Hollywood, decadent eats and cocktails.

Head over to Kitson’s Instagram for inspiration and celebrity style from their store on Melrose. Celebs like Ashley Tisdale and Jessica Zohr can be seen rocking the same frocks that are available for purchase in the boutique. The Standard Hotel’s Instagram page offers photos of all four hotels, but the pictures of the West Hollywood location steal the show. A photo of Escondido band performing in the hotel lounge area is a moment frozen in time, with classic West Hollywood style and post Coachella flair. Photos of cocktails by their famous pool and other silly pics of employees on the job are quite entertaining. Who wouldn’t want to hang for hours at a place like this?

All in all Instagram is tons of fun. If you don’t have one already, sign up for an account and start snapping photos around town. Don’t forget to tag when you do, as many places have free swag and giveaways for the best Instagram pics. Happy shooting!

West Hollywood is known for its cutting edge, trendy, top notch restaurants, but Salt’s Cure is not just another great new place to dine. So what makes this small-big-presence eatery stand out from the culinary crowd? It’s their “Farm to table/Farm to Fork” dining experience.

This growing food movement refers to producing food locally and delivering that food to local consumers and diners. Chef-owners, Zak Walters and Chris Phelps are passionate about using locally grown ingredients, small farmers and vendors. The result? Deliciously pure and simple dishes served in a relaxed and pure environment (with high ceilings, wood tables and exposed brick walls).

And for a little entertainment, diners can watch the chefs create dishes like Salmon with hen-of-the-woods and fried egg, smoked brisket, Oatmeal Pancakes, even Steak and Cake, in their open-air industrial kitchen put smack dab in the middle of the dining room. The background music was just as stellar with RJD2 and MGMT part of the dining soundtrack.

We ordered the Bacon Cheeseburger (we’re talking thick bacon strips) Chicken salad Sandwich (with a strip of deep fried chicken skin atop the chicken salad) and the Avocado Salad from the giant blackboard (ever-changing) menu on the wall above. The dishes were in lock step with the “simple” theme; placed on small cutting boards. And it was pure, simple and delicious. Surprisingly we left satiated not stuffed! Although next time I’ll order their famous dessert-Grapefruit Pie. All in all, Salt’s Cure is a must-dine West Hollywood restaurant!

Rojas is a chic boutique nestled in West Hollywood just south of Sweetzer on Santa Monica Boulevard. The aesthetic embodies the familiar Southern California laid-back vibe, but what makes Rojas unique is a quirky incorporation of beach culture with lively party clothes indicative of West Hollywood nightlife. Upon entering it’s easy to feel the fun and carefree style of Rojas. Adorable outfits just in time for summer fill the boutique, notably a two-piece short and halter-top set embellished with a bright yellow sunflower pattern caught my attention immediately. This little outfit is a sweet and sexy ensemble perfect for a Sunday Fun-day at the Abbey!

Many of my favorite items at Rojas are garments that impart some tongue-and-cheek humor in regard to high fashion. Some examples are loose-fitting t-shirts monogrammed with a Chanel shopping bag filled with empty spray paint cans, an excellent way to make a statement with fashion sense. Pleather bustiers and oversized sweatshirts adorned with real pennies are humorously chic. Why not head over to The Hudson or Laurel Canyon rocking these frocks on a Saturday night? They are sure to be great conversation pieces.

To call Rojas simply unique would be an understatement! Suspenders fashioned out of hooded sweatshirts and vintage neckties are cool for the gentlemen, while fitted baseball hats with golden plated dinosaur sculptures adhered to the brim will go well for both the guys and the gals. These are just a few quirky fashion staples that make Rojas the store to shop!

So stop by this little hidden gem. And if you are an online shopper have no worries. Rojas has an accessible Etsy page for your online pleasure. Happy shopping!

West Hollywood is known for its diverse and dynamic culture so it’s no surprise great (and adventurous!) dining is part of its fascinating mix. You can experience all parts of culinary East feasts from Northern Thai street food to upscale Asian Cuban Fusion. Here are some of the most popular West Hollywood Asian eateries:

Night + Market

When Chef Kris is not cheffing his “uncompromising, unmessed with” street food, he’s lecturing at UCLA. Night+Market is a culinary experience and a good meal all rolled into one “Spring Roll”! Favorite dishes are Thai Top, Chicken Pad Thai, Pork Collar and Beef Tendon (it’s worth getting over your “Collar” and “Tendon” squeamishness !). Their reasonable price plus your very own beer in a keg makes this Weho Asian eatery not-to-be-missed. (and by the way, Chef Kris learned from his parents, owners of longtime Weho fav Asian restaurant, Talesai!)

9041 Sunset Blvd West Hollywood, CA 90069
310.275.9724

Asia de Cuba at Mondrian

This upscale Asian Cuban Fusion restaurant also fuses a California lifestyle and a cool Hollywood vibe in the gorgeous Mondrian hotel (home of Skybar). So you can make an evening of dining and nightclubbing in one Sunset Strip locale! It’s a mixture of Asian-Latin offering an intriguing menu from Miso cured Alaskan Black Cod and Honey-Rum Glazed Kurobuta Pork Belly to Free Range Cuban BBQ Chicken, Palomillo of Beef and Ropa Vieja of Duck topped with hoisin sauce. They even have Avocado Ice Cream!

8440 W Sunset Blvd West Hollywood, CA 90069
323.848.6000

Talesai

Thai Restaurant. Parents of Night+Market’s Chef Kris. especially green papaya salad and Hidden Treasures appetizer: It is bold with flavor, which is infused into each bite because each morsel of appetizer gets its own little cover. The dish is rich with the wonderful basil, curry, bay leaf, and coconut milk flavors of Thai food and the shrimp is cooked to a perfect texture. It is my new favorite thing to order there!

9043 W Sunset Blvd West Hollywood, CA 90069
310.275.9724

Unphogettable

This Vietnamese restaurant lives up to its play-on-words name. It’s the most consistently good Vietnamese place in town. Dine on their popular dishes like Combo Pho, Pineapple Fried Rice, Beef Pho and Spring Rolls in a low key intimate setting. Yelpers call it “Phonomenal” and the “go to pho place.” You’ll feel like you’re on a tropical Asian island when you sip your drink out of a coconut! (or have the coconut ice cream!)

8543 Santa Monica Blvd West Hollywood, CA 90069
424.249.3825

Tenmasa Japanese Restaurant

A sushi hotspot on The Sunset Strip has a huge sushi menu from California rolls to the spicy Jalapeno Rolls (Spicy Tuna roll is one of the best!) If you’e not in the mood for sushi try their Lobster or Veggie Tempura, Teriyaki, Fried Tofu or Curry Rice. The Dynamite with Scallops with a special sauce (diners are known to lick the bowl!)

9016 W Sunset Blvd West Hollywood, Ca 90069
310.275.7808

Kung Pao Bistro

An Asian Bistro and “Go To Mainstream Chinese Place” known for its Crispy Beef, Walnut and Shrimp, Veggie Orange Chicken and of course Kung Pao dishes even their crafted beers!

7853 Santa Monica Blvd West Hollywood, CA 90046
323.848.9888

Chin Chin Grill

A local favorite right in the heart of The Sunset Strip (Sunset Plaza). It’s got that pleasantly Californian vibe, so of course there is lots of year round outdoor seating. Known for its chicken salad. The salad was good, if simple, but in my mind the real star was the shu mai and the singapore noodles. Both were so fresh and perfectly steamed and vibrantly flavored, I couldn’t get over it. I wanted to keep eating but eventually judgment, manners, and time won out.

8618 W Sunset Blvd West Hollywood, CA 90069
310.652.1818

Formosa Cafe

This landmark Chinese restaurant has had famous diners since the 1920s. Clark Gable, Humphrey Bogart and Frank Sinatra were regulars (it’s still a great place for celeb spotting!) And you’ll recognize it in LA Confidential. Some of their popular Chinese dishes are Chicken Stay, Mongolian Beef and Shu Mai. If you want something other than Chinese you can also have dishes like Lobster Mac and Cheese and Truffle Fries.

7156 Santa Monica Blvd West Hollywood, CA 90046
323.850.9050

Katana Japanese Restaurant

Sit on the balcony, sip Sake and watch the sunset at this elegant Japanese restaurant that combines traditional and innovative dishes like Quail Eggs and Jumbo Clams, Tuna Carpaccio with wasabi soy truffle oil, arugula, avocado, and parmesan cheese and of course great sushi!

8439 W. Sunset Blvd West Hollywood, CA 90069
323.650.8585

Sushiya

Known to be one of the most innovative Sushi bars in town. From traditional Japanese to Thai influenced dishes like the popular Bin Bin (Baked Lobster over a California Roll). Other favorites are Spicy Tuna on Tortilla Chip appetizer and Rock Shrimp Tempura and Shu Mui Dumplings. Start off with Shishito Peppers. You can dine outside on Sunset Plaza (and do a little people watching celeb spotting).

8650 W Sunset Blvd West Hollywood, CA 90069
310.659.9804

Jinpachi

It’s great uber fresh sushi and sashimi in a simple quiet setting in the midst of action packed Santa Monica boulevard. Try the Sashimi Moriwase, Eel & Avocado and Spicy Salmon Cut Rolls, Yellowtail with Jalapeno and you can even get Kumamoto Oysters.

8711 Santa Monica Blvd West Hollywood, CA 90069
310.358.9134

Empress

This fusion spot on The Sunset Strip with its spray-painted bamboo ceilings has a distinctive menu to match like the albacore ponzu over crispy rice, the lemongrass salmon, tempura slipper lobsters, and wasabi mashed potatoes. And to add a little fusion to the drink side of the menu try their gigantic Patron shots!
