PRIDE 2013 Performers

Ciara and soon-to-be-announced performer headline this year’s main stage at LA PRIDE. Chiddy Bang, Luciana and Uh Huh will also grace the main stage.

The 3-day festival and parade, taking place June 7-9 in West Hollywood, is no doubt, an event everyone’s looking forward to. Read excerpts from the official Press Release below for more of the fine details:

CSW is extremely excited to announce two of Friday Night’s highly anticipated performers, both of which are “Glitz and Glam”, personified. Indie/Electro-Rock duo, Uh Huh Her, will be gracing the stage and is guaranteed to perform an insane show that will have the crowd jumping.

CSW is also thrilled to announce that seductive songstress, Luciana, will be taking the stage Friday night to deliver what is sure to be a powerhouse performance. As both a singer and songwriter, Luciana has collaborated with the likes of Benny Benassi, Deadmau5, Taio Cruz and Kylie Minogue, and has released several hit singles such as “I like that”, “I’m still hot”, and, most recently, 2013’s mega-hit “U B the Bass”.

Saturday will be a night you do not want to miss this year at LA PRIDE. Alternative Hip-Hop act, Chiddy Bang, make their Pride debut and open the night and makes their LA PRIDE debut. The high-energy, charismatic pair of rappers, who are responsible for hits like “Mind Your Manners” and “Breakfast”, serve their audiences with a unique array of sample-based music featuring various artists ranging from Ellie Goulding to Radiohead.

Get ready for Pop-princess Ciara as she closes the Main Stage for the evening. With hits like “Goodies,” “Ride It,” and “Like A Boy,” Ciara is set to amplify the crowd with her stunning dance moves and nightclub bangers!

Sunday is looking as equally promising featuring an eclectic mix of local performers and a soon-to-be-announced Sunday headliners. Internationally-known and acclaimed DJ Hector Fonseca will be spinning that night but you’ll have to check back on LA PRIDE’s Facebook page for details and updates on other performers!

Local talent lined up for LA PRIDE 2013 include Mike Munich, Countre Black, Hi Fashion, Connie Loves Juice and Nylon Pink as well as LA DJ’s DJ Pornstar, DJ Tony G, Derek Monteiro, DJ Drew G, DJ Lezlee and many others!

In addition to the amazing musical performances, LA PRIDE also offers a unique collection of experiences ranging from pop-up art installations to a sober oasis, as well a transgender beauty pageant. Special Exhibits at LA PRIDE 2013

Friday night is an entire night devoted to the ladies: LA PRIDE’s Purple Party. With performances on the Main Stage and DJ’s spinning throughout the night, the night celebrates the Lesbian culture. Friday night’s annual Dyke March takes place this evening; an event in which thousands of women gather and rally together in solidarity.

Club Papi teams up with LA PRIDE again this year for the exciting Latino Carnival Powered by Club Papi. With performers and DJ’s throughout the weekend, the Latino Carnival is an amazing addition to the already stellar entertainment line-up on the mainstage with performances by OV7 and Kat Deluna.

One of the highlights of the PRIDE week activities is the Friday night Transgender LA Pride Party. For the fourth consecutive year, the event will celebrate the talents of the various members the transgender community showcasing their artistic performances.

This year’s Erotic City will feature an amazing array of art exhibits and entertainment within the “Adults Only” walls.

If you’re looking for something a little more laid back, Bill’s Café is a sober oasis—a place where guests are encouraged to hang out and relax away from any outside influences. If you haven’t heard about Instagram by now, you must have been living under a rock for the past year! But just in case you haven’t I will give you a little back-story. Instagram is an online photo-sharing and social media network that allows its users to take photos, add vintage-y digital filters to them, and share them on a plethora of social networking sites, such as Facebook and Twitter. Instagram has gained massive popularity, with over 100 million active users. Aside from personal accounts, many businesses have Instagram pages in an effort to access their core audiences. This includes a lot of really cool West Hollywood establishments. Let’s take a look at the trendiest and most fashionable WeHo Instagram accounts.

Check out The Roxy’s Instagram page for rock and roll style and fashion on the Sunset strip. In addition to stylish threads of the musically inclined, you can find great photos of art, craft beers and live performances. The Andaz Hotel also has a fun instagram  page that will give you the retro feel of old Hollywood. Chicken Salad Sandwich, Bacon Cheeseburger & the best fries

West Hollywood is known for its cutting edge, trendy, top notch restaurants, but Salt’s Cure is not just another great new place to dine. So what makes this small-big-presence eatery stand out from the culinary crowd? It’s their “Farm to table/Farm to Fork” dining experience.

This growing food movement refers to producing food locally and delivering that food to local consumers and diners. Chef-owners, Zak Walters and Chris Phelps are passionate about using locally grown ingredients, small farmers and vendors. The result? Deliciously pure and simple dishes served in a relaxed and pure environment (with high ceilings, wood tables and exposed brick walls).

And for a little entertainment, diners can watch the chefs create dishes like Salmon with hen-of-the-woods and fried egg, smoked brisket, Oatmeal Pancakes, even Steak and Cake, in their open-air industrial kitchen put smack dab in the middle of the dining room. The background music was just as stellar with RJD2 and MGMT part of the dining soundtrack.

We ordered the Bacon Cheeseburger (we’re talking thick bacon strips) Chicken salad Sandwich (with a strip of deep fried chicken skin atop the chicken salad) and the Avocado Salad from the giant blackboard (ever-changing) menu on the wall above. The dishes were in lock step with the “simple” theme; placed on small cutting boards. And it was pure, simple and delicious. Surprisingly we left satiated not stuffed! Although next time I’ll order their famous dessert-Grapefruit Pie. All in all, Salt’s Cure is a must-dine West Hollywood restaurant!

Parents of Night+Market’s Chef Kris. especially green papaya salad and Hidden Treasures appetizer: It is bold with flavor, which is infused into each bite because each morsel of appetizer gets its own little cover. This Vietnamese restaurant lives up to its play-on-words name. It’s the most consistently good Vietnamese place in town. Dine on their popular dishes like Combo Pho, Pineapple Fried Rice, Beef Pho and Spring Rolls in a low key intimate setting. Yelpers call it “Phonomenal” and the “go to pho place.” You’ll feel like you’re on a tropical Asian island when you sip your drink out of a coconut! (or have the coconut ice cream!)

A local favorite right in the heart of The Sunset Strip (Sunset Plaza). It’s got that pleasantly Californian vibe, so of course there is lots of year round outdoor seating. Known for its chicken salad. The salad was good, if simple, but in my mind the real star was the shu mai and the singapore noodles. Both were so fresh and perfectly steamed and vibrantly flavored, I couldn’t get over it. I wanted to keep eating but eventually judgment, manners, and time won out.

Formosa Cafe

This landmark Chinese restaurant has had famous diners since the 1920s. Clark Gable, Humphrey Bogart and Frank Sinatra were regulars (it’s still a great place for celeb spotting!) And you’ll recognize it in LA Confidential. Some of their popular Chinese dishes are Chicken Stay, Mongolian Beef and Shu Mai. With Gay Pride coming up, you’ll want to be right in the heart of the West Hollywood action. The “urban resort” Mondrian hotel on The Sunset Strip couldn’t be more central to the festivities! (It’s just a stroll down the hill to the Gay Pride Festival & Parade on Santa Monica boulevard).
