The Sunset Strip Music Festival is a three-day event celebrating the music legacy of The Sunset Strip. The festival kicks off on Thursday, Aug. 18 with a tribute event honoring a Sunset Strip icons MÖTLEY CRÜE- who got their start on The Sunset Strip, performing many nights at the Whisky A Go-Go and The Roxy Theatre. The tribute event features a cocktail hour, live performances and celebrity speakers. After the tribute, the clubs (Cat Club, House of Blues Sunset Strip, Key Club, The Roxy Theatre, Viper Room and Whisky) will open their doors to host a night of music. Friday, Aug. 19 includes even more performances in the venues!
The festival concludes with an all-day street festival
on Saturday, Aug. 20. Sunset Boulevard will be closed to traffic between San Vicente Boulevard and Doheny Drive to accommodate two outdoor stages, beer gardens, a VIP rooftop lounge and interactive experiences on the boulevard in addition to live performances in the venues throughout the day and into the night.

2011 SSMF honorees MÖTLEY CRÜE will return to their roots and perform live ON The Sunset Strip Saturday, Aug. 20, closing the outdoor street festival stages! The outdoor stages will also feature exciting performances from a range of amazing artists throughout the day, including BUSH, PUBLIC ENEMY, MATT & KIM, ESCAPE THE FATE, THE DIRTY HEADS, COBRA STARSHIP, SHE WANTS REVENGE, BLACK VEIL BRIDES and TRIBAL SEEDS. The all-day street festival will also feature performances by more than 50 bands in the venues, including VOXHAUL BROADCAST, LETLIVE, DELUKA, PIGEON JOHN, KILL THE COMPLEX, THE LOST PATROL and DIVINITY ROXX.
After the outdoor stages close at 10 p.m., the party continues with unique “after parties” in venues, including DJs FELIX CARTAL, HARVARD BASS and BONES performing at the Key Club, and SEMI PRECIOUS WEAPONS returning to The Roxy Theatre to present their signature rock-meets-art party EMPIRE, featuring special guests.
