Helping Australia Wildfire Victims
Like many of you, it pains us to witness the devastation and destruction caused by the bushfires raging across Australia. The West Hollywood Travel + Tourism Board has, for many years, had a strong affinity for our Australian visitors.
We send our support and love to the people who have been displaced and battling the fires. A significant way you can contribute to the efforts for Australia, and its beloved people and wildlife during this challenging time is contributing to reputable charities and relief efforts.
Here are some ways you can help our friends in Australia:
- The Australian Red Cross
- St. Vincent de Paul Society
- County Fire Service Foundation
- NSW Rural Fire Service
- Victoria County Fire Authority
- Rural Fire Brigades’ Association of Queensland
- World Wildlife Fund Australia
- RSPCA New South Wales
- Australian Bushfire Relief Fund
- Drought Angels
Additionally, on Sunday, January 26, from noon – 8 p.m., E.P. & L.P. in West Hollywood, which was founded and led by Australian principals, Grant Smillie and David Combe, is hosting a special Australian Bushfire Relief Fundraiser in coordination with the American Australian Association. One hundred percent of the event proceeds will go towards the bushfire relief effort.
Taste on Melrose will have an Aussie-style celebration in their Atrium Bar starting at 6:30 p.m. with 20% of the proceeds benefitting WIRES NSW.
