“Gumbo and Friends” is an award-winning comedy show created by Jeremy “Gumbo” Christian, initially launched for Netflix’s “Is A Joke” festival in 2022. After a triumphant return in 2024, the show sold out the 400-seater Miracle Theater and earned accolades, being named Best of the Festival by both Netflix and the LA Times. Blending stand-up comedy, crowd work, improv scenes, and live musical guests, this dynamic and entertaining production stands out as a favorite among comedy fans.
Hosted by Louisiana native Gumbo, the show highlights his versatile talents as a comedian and producer. Gumbo’s impressive credits include the 2024 Just For Laughs Moontower Festival, writing for MTV’s “Wild ‘N Out,” National Lampoon, All Def Digital, and more. “Gumbo and Friends” continues to cement his reputation as a rising star in the comedy world.

Hidden on our second floor, the Belly Room has been a testing ground for the best developing comedians over the last four decades. Not only have great comedy voices been discovered in this room but some of your favorite shows and podcasts got their start on this tiny but powerful stage. Built by Yakov Smirnoff and his father, the Belly Room is many comics’ first home while they work their way up at The Store.
