Renowned French conductor Ludovic Morlot leads music by Ravel and Granados that captures the spirit of Spanish dances. Seth Parker Woods, the cellist who is quickly becoming a groundbreaking new-music star in both the avant-garde and pop worlds (Los Angeles Times), joins the LA Phil for the world premiere of Julia Adolphes new concerto, which the composer describes as seeking comfort among sorrowful melodies, finding freedom in expressive outbursts, and conjuring joy in solitude.
