Emmys-Inspired Looks for a Fun Night Out

If you don’t have the time or budget for an A-list makeover, no worries—we got you covered with five Emmys-inspired looks for a stellar night out in West Hollywood.

Nightlife on the world-famous Sunset Strip

The challenge for your West Hollywood night out vibe is to look as hot and fashionable as possible but still … a little effortless. This is no easy feat. So I looked to the Emmys and the after parties (many of which our held in West Hollywood, thank you very much) for a little inspo.

Modern Bombshell

Talk about transformation!  Vanessa Kirby looked dramatically different from her character on The Crown in a vintage bombshell inspired cat eye and nude lip.  Her voluminous hair gave us serious Bardot vibes. She carried that nude color down to her Tom Ford creation of a bustier-inspired, form fitting dress.  Follow her lead and remember that skin — both face and skin — may be your best accessory yet so make sure you glow from head to toe!

Porcelain Beauty

I also call this look Vampire Beauty especially as we head into Halloween – perfectly poreless skin and a bold red lip spells classic, and a bit preternatural, beauty. Rachel Brosnahan wore a slicked back chignon but you could opt for a more casual low pony. This look screams for something red – perhaps a corset- inspired top with a pair of jeans?

Color Block Fashionista

We’ve seen this trend for a few seasons now, but on your face? Leave it to Black-ish star Tracee Ellis Ross to wear coral on her eyes and a bright fuschia on her lip! When you decide to go this route, your outfit must be as haute as your beat. Try something voluminous and oh-so-designer.

Bronze-y Goddess

When it’s time to smoulder, look no further than Mandy Moore’s smokey vibe. Her custom Rodarte dress started with the fabric and I just loved how earthy and sexy she looked. This was a distinct transformation from her girl-next-door look which still managed to look effortless. Fresh from Hawaii, Moore and her makeup artist went for a monochromatic look that really focused on beautiful skin.

Dapper Men

From John Legend’s navy Gucci to Darren Criss in Giorgio Armani, men expressed their fashion creativity in every way. Three-time Emmy winner Peter Dinklage wore perfectly tailored custom John Varvatos because no matter what, perfect tailoring is always on-trend.
