A visit to West Hollywood has always been a treat for the senses, and several of the city’s restaurants and hotels just got some well-deserved acclaim to underscore this point.
In the 2025 MICHELIN Guide California, five West Hollywood restaurants have been recognized for their culinary excellence, including Somni, one of Los Angeles’ first to receive three stars.
Not to be outdone by the restaurants, six West Hollywood hotels have been awarded the MICHELIN Key, reserved for accommodations that offer very special stays. This year, the Pendry West Hollywood was awarded two MICHELIN Keys for its stylish interiors and exceptional hospitality.
Read on to get a closer look at the properties included in this year’s selection — and book your visit before everyone else does!

Somni

Three Stars
After the first iteration of Somni closed during the pandemic, chef Aitor Zabala and his team spent three years imagining something new — a “tiny territory at the edge of West Hollywood, devoted to virtuous hedonistic pleasure and creative culture.” Book the Chef’s Counter Experience for a front-row view of the kitchen, and learn why this Spanish-inspired dining destination is one of L.A.’s first restaurants to earn three MICHELIN stars.
What the Guide says: “Chef Aitor Zabala and his dedicated team have awakened Somni, Catalan for ‘dream,’ from a long sleep and have fashioned this revamped iteration as a distinctly personal and unique dining experience. A procession of small bites is meticulously arranged and endlessly creative, sating diners with an abundance of rich flavors and textural interplay (think mussel escabeche, gazpacho or the iconic shiso tartare tempura).”

Stella

MICHELIN Selected
Stepping into Stella in the Design District is like traveling back in time to 1950s Italy, with deep wood accents, vintage-inspired leather booths and warm, comforting lighting. The menu is equally comforting and daring, with fresh, seasonal ingredients and rich Italian classics.
What the Guide says: “Italian food with local California products is the promise at Stella, where a two-story dining room has an Art Deco flair, and the chef’s counter offers a mesmerizing look at live-fire cooking. Don’t miss the lardo di Colonanta, a dish of thinly sliced and meltingly soft lardo paired with strawberries, razor-thin caciocavello cheese and a balsamic amaro.”

Amour

MICHELIN Selected
With dishes like beef tartare with bone marrow and sole served with grenobloise sauce, it’s no wonder Amour was quickly added to the MICHELIN Guide shortly after opening in December 2023. Guests can dine in this elevated French brasserie’s antique-laden La Salle á Manger, on Le Patio & Le Jardin (complete with fireplace and fountain) or in the opulent, private Parisian dining room (by request).
What the Guide says: “Indoors or out? It’s the eternal question in Los Angeles, but even more difficult to decide at Amour. Banquettes and booths beckon on the patio, while the dining room, accessed through a library stacked with vintage books, is loaded with charm down to the very last candlestick. Multi-course tasting menus are on offer or order à la carte from a menu that blends French and Asian influences.”

Connie & Ted’s

MICHELIN Selected
Eclectic East- and West-Coast vibes mix at Connie & Ted’s, where the “funky interior and seafaring knickknacks” pay homage to Chef Michael Cimarusti’s New England roots. Expect an extensive raw bar and sustainable, wild-caught seafood sourced from the Atlantic and Pacific oceans.
What the Guide says: “Chowder is a must for a seafood spot and this particular one offers a tempting flight of three: creamy New England, tomato-based Manhattan and buttery Rhode Island. The lobster roll, packed with tail and claw meat, is a gem among solo diners, while chilled seafood platters and the oak-grilled fish are great for crowds. Don’t forget to grab a bit of saltwater taffy on your way out.”

Ardor

MICHELIN Selected
Another MICHELIN veteran that held its status this year is Ardor, the stylish in-house restaurant of The West Hollywood EDITION hotel. Vegetables take center stage on Chef John Fraser’s menu, but carnivores will find plenty to love in Ardor’s grilled branzino, high-end cuts of beef and lamb cooked under pine — all of which earned high marks from the Guide. Equally drool-worthy are the tropical-chic interiors, which will make you feel like you’ve walked into an Architectural Digest spread.
What the Guide says: “If a luxury spa ran a restaurant, it would probably look something like Ardor. Cushy white velvet and leather booths, white and beige staff uniforms, and enough verdant greenery to rival a small forest match the equally chic aesthetic at its parent venue, The West Hollywood EDITION hotel.”

Pendry West Hollywood

Two Keys
Rated 19.9 out of 20 by verified guests
What the Guide says: “The design, by Martin Brudnizki, is influenced by the Art Deco interiors that are synonymous with Hollywood’s Golden Age, but the Pendry is no retro experience — instead it’s a fantasy version of contemporary L.A., full of dazzling colors and textures, beginning with Anthony James’s mind-bending Icosahedron, a fractal-like sculpture in the lobby which draws the viewer’s eye into a seemingly limitless interior world. Rooms and suites carry on in a similarly fantastic vein, if not quite such a psychedelic one; the views of the city skyline and the Hollywood Hills feel infinite in the other direction.”

Sunset Tower Hotel

One Key
Rated 19.2 out of 20 by verified guests
What the Guide says: “In Hollywood, the line between history and kitsch is so fine as to be practically non-existent. But one way or another the Sunset Tower manages to land on the right side of the line. In the latter years of the golden age this Art Deco apartment tower was home to the likes of Marilyn Monroe and Frank Sinatra. While today the mid-century atmosphere is still in place, it’s no museum — there’s nothing faded about the newly renovated Sunset Tower’s sober, earth-toned interiors. It’s not collectors or autograph hounds but bona fide Hollywood players who frequent its halls today.”

The Charlie

Rated 19.1 out of 20 by verified guests
What the Guide says: “This particular corner of West Hollywood has changed a bit over the years, to say the least, but back when Charlie Chaplin owned it this jumble of English-style bungalows fit right in to the pastoral landscape. Chaplin left L.A. over sixty years ago, of course, and it’s a minor miracle that these houses still stand — but thanks to an enterprising hotelier, they do, in the form of the Charlie, a truly unusual boutique hotel. (We always mean that as a compliment.)”

What the Guide says: “From the outside, this ’70s apartment building doesn’t attract much attention — though someday this architectural style will be back in fashion, at which time West Hollywood will be its Mecca. Inside, though, it’s a different story; rooftop swimming pools, for example, are always in style, especially with panoramic views of L.A. and the Hollywood Hills, and the lobby sets the tone. The bedrooms are impressive as well — the interiors are striking, modern-luxe, perhaps more masculine in its blues and greys than some other SoCal boutiques. Each room, improbably enough, comes with a gas fireplace for when the temperature dips below 70…”

Hotel 850 SVB

One Key
Rated 19.3 out of 20 by verified guests
What the Guide says: “If you’ve been to the Sunset Tower, then you’ll agree that hotelier Jeff Klein has a track record with this sort of thing, and it’s no surprise that news of his new Hotel 850 SVB West Hollywood at Beverly Hills, a residential-style luxury boutique hotel in West Hollywood, has met with much enthusiasm. It’s set in (and behind) a century-old bungalow on San Vicente Boulevard, just off Santa Monica, in a slightly paradoxical location — it’s a residential street, but it’s barely a block from the Pacific Design Center in one direction and the Sunset Strip in the other. With just 23 rooms and suites it’s aiming for an atmosphere that’s even more private than the Tower, and the accommodations are impressively luxe and quite stylish, in a welcoming, low-key way.”

Soho House Holloway

One Key
What the Guide says: “Here in West Hollywood, with a bit of adaptation, is a slightly sunnier version of the Soho House concept, in the form of the 34-room Holloway House. Its location places it close to the storied nightlife of the Sunset Strip, but that’s almost secondary; Holloway House, like any Soho House establishment, doesn’t need to be close to the action — it is the action. Its Club restaurant, its Mandolin Mezze rooftop terrace, and its Club-adjacent Bar and Library are among the hottest tickets in town, and they’re for members only — which, if you’re an overnight guest, includes you, for the duration of your stay.”

Hotel Ziggy

MICHELIN Selected
What the Guide says: “The social heart of the hotel is the saltwater pool and the lively poolside lounge, where live DJs play and servers from the adjacent B-Side Pizza deliver to-go pies. There’s even a Shred Shed, where guests can rent guitars, amplifiers, turntables and other music-making implements for a songwriting session or a bit of musical exploration. Perfect for the music-obsessed, and one of the most memorable stays in L.A.”

The London West Hollywood at Beverly Hills

MICHELIN Selected
Rated 19.4 out of 20 by verified guests
What the Guide says: “Think of big-time luxury these days and you’ll probably find you’re thinking of New York and London — so it’s only fitting that some of the best of what Los Angeles has to offer has roots in both. The London West Hollywood at Beverly Hills is the successor to the London NYC, bringing its trademark grown-up luxury to the Sunset Strip, courtesy of David Collins. Balconies and terraces are universal, and between the retro-influenced Collins-designed décor and the oversized spa-like bathrooms, they’re more like pleasure palaces than hotel rooms — as decadent as the West Coast ought to be, and a fitting look for a hotel that’s just a mile from Beverly Hills and Rodeo Drive.”

Andaz West Hollywood

MICHELIN Selected
Rated 18.6 out of 20 by verified guests
What the Guide says: “The new interiors are sleek, though still sunny, with plenty of white space and crisp modern furnishings. It’s a slightly spare style, which is probably more user-friendly for working guests, and gives the odd misguided rocker less furniture to trash. As for the nuts and bolts of the place, it’s essentially a slightly hipper, marginally less plush version of the Hyatt’s luxury brands. There’s a rooftop swimming pool and sun deck with a stunning view, a 24-hour gym, a swanky lobby lounge and a restaurant, Riot House, serving California cuisine made from locally sourced ingredients.”

1 Hotel West Hollywood

Rated 17.8 out of 20 by verified guests
What the Guide says: “The Sunset Strip may seem an odd setting for the fastidiously green, clean-living 1 Hotel West Hollywood, but this is an unusually walkable corner of Los Angeles, and right here at the literal foot of the Hollywood Hills, the hotel’s signature foliage makes the perfect transition between city and nature. Rooms and suites are stylish in neutrals and organic materials, the comforts are upscale without feeling ostentatious, and some of the views are truly extraordinary.”

The West Hollywood EDITION

MICHELIN Selected
Rated 19.9 out of 20 by verified guests
What the Guide says: “Rooms are beautifully luxe and visually sparse, with views of the city or the Hollywood Hills; the British architect John Pawson brings an upscale gravity to modernist-friendly Southern California. It’s positioned, both literally and metaphorically, where the Sunset Strip meets Beverly Hills, and its restaurant, rooftop lounge, lobby bar and subterranean nightclub suitably straddle the line between refinement and decadence, while the spa prepares you to do it all again the very next night.”

Montrose at Beverly Hills

MICHELIN Selected
Rated 16.4 out of 20 by verified guests
What the Guide says: “Its suites are made for rest and relaxation, and perhaps a bit of private entertaining. 55-inch televisions, Keurig coffee makers, fireplaces, and fully stocked minibars are standard, and some suites add kitchenettes and/or balconies. A multi-use lounge slowly evolves over the course of the day from a relaxed co-working space to a livelier social scene thanks to the Vino & Vinyl Hour. And while the Montrose does have a restaurant, Tone, crucially it’s for guests of the hotel only — as is the rooftop cafe, for a drink or a light bite by the pool with a 360° view of West Hollywood and Beverly Hills.”

Petite Ermitage

Rated 18.3 out of 20 by verified guests
What the Guide says: “Diversions include yoga classes or spa treatments delivered en suite, and the jewel in the Petit Ermitage’s crown is the saltwater rooftop pool. By day it’s the place to catch a ray or two, but by night, in keeping with local custom, it turns into a lounge space full of nooks and crannies, from the private cabanas to the gardens, a haven for butterflies and hummingbirds. A typical Los Angeles hotel this most certainly isn’t.”

What the Guide says: “The rooms are surprisingly accessible in their comfort, and they’re quite large, in classic boutique white-on-white but with living rooms and kitchens to boot. The views from this twelve-story tower, through floor-to-ceiling windows, are phenomenal, and while the service is a bit more hands-off than the luxury standard, it only contributes to the guests’ privacy and independence.”
