California Consumer Privacy Act
This notice supplements the Privacy Policy of Visit West Hollywood and applies to California residents. It describes the personal information we collect through visitwesthollywood.com, how we use and share it, and the rights the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act, gives you. Last updated: 11/2/2026
Personal information we collect
In the past twelve months we have collected the following categories of personal information:
- Identifiers, such as your name, email address, phone number and organization, when you subscribe to our newsletter, submit a request form or contact us.
- Internet and other electronic network activity, such as the pages you visit, the links you click, your browser and device type, and your approximate location from your IP address, collected through cookies and similar technologies when you use the site.
- Commercial information, such as the guides you request, the events you submit and the travel interests you share with us.
- Inferences drawn from the information above, such as the kinds of visits and places that interest you, which our analytics and advertising partners may create.
We do not collect sensitive personal information as the law defines it, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16.
Where it comes from
- Directly from you, when you fill in a form, subscribe or write to us.
- Automatically from your browser or device, through cookies and the analytics tools on the site.
- From the partners whose tools run on our site, such as the trip planner, the hotel booking engine and the photo galleries, when you use them.
How we use it
- To run the site and answer your requests.
- To send the newsletter and updates you asked for.
- To understand how the site is used and improve it.
- To promote West Hollywood as a destination, including advertising on other websites and platforms.
- To protect the site and its visitors.
- To meet our legal obligations.
Sale and sharing
We do not sell personal information for money. Like most websites, we use analytics and advertising cookies that allow partners such as Google and social media platforms to collect information about your visit and show you advertising elsewhere. California law may treat this as “sharing” personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. You can opt out at any time with the Your Privacy Choices link at the foot of every page. We also honor the Global Privacy Control signal from your browser as a request to opt out.
We disclose personal information to service providers that run parts of the site for us, such as hosting, email delivery, forms, analytics and the trip planner, under contracts that limit how they may use it.
How long we keep it
We keep personal information for as long as we need it for the purposes above: newsletter details until you unsubscribe, form submissions as needed, and analytics data for the retention period set in our analytics tools. We may keep information longer where the law requires it.
Your rights
As a California resident, you have the right to:
- Know what personal information we collect about you and how we use and share it.
- Access a copy of that information.
- Ask us to delete it.
- Ask us to correct it.
- Opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information.
- Not be treated differently for exercising these rights.
You may also ask us to limit the use of sensitive personal information, but we do not collect it.
How to exercise your rights
To opt out of sharing, use the Your Privacy Choices link at the foot of every page, or turn on the Global Privacy Control signal in your browser.
For any other request, call (800) 368-6020. Tell us which right you are exercising and how we can reach you. We will confirm that we received your request within ten business days and respond within 45 days; if we need more time, we will tell you why. To protect your information, we may ask you to confirm details we already hold, such as the email address on file; we will not ask for more than we need.
You may authorize someone else to make a request for you. We will ask that person for proof of your written permission and may ask you to confirm the request directly.
