Author Ava Dellairia once said, “On Halloween, you get to become anything you want to be.” In West Hollywood, you get to be whatever you want to be every day of the year — and especially on Halloween! So, grab your costumes, wigs, masks and more for a frightfully fun Halloween in West Hollywood.

Below are some of the can’t-miss Halloween events happening in WeHo this year.

Pre-Halloween Celebrations & Things to Do

Scary Movie Month at Melrose Rooftop Theatre

Through October 31

No one does spooky season quite like Melrose Rooftop Theatre! Nestled in West Hollywood’s Design District, this venue offers a unique outdoor cinematic experience that utilizes wireless technology and individual headsets to provide guests with pristine audio and visuals. During the month of October, the theater is showing all of your favorite Halloween flicks, including Scream (both the 1996 and 2022 versions), Ghostbusters, Edward Scissorhands and American Psycho. Visitors can purchase General Admission tickets for $30 or splurge on the $65 VIP Dinner + Movie experience, which includes a delicious three-course dinner. Attendees must be 21+.

Rock Against MS Rocktober Halloween Charity Bash at Whisky A Go Go

October 12

Start celebrating Halloween early at The Whisky’s Rocktober Halloween Charity Bash benefiting Rock Against MS. The event is hosted by comedian Hal Sparks and features a robust lineup of performers, including Steven Adler from Guns N’ Roses, Todd Morse from The Offspring, Fuel’s Jason Womack and Phil Buckman, and many more. Guests who come dressed as their favorite rockstar will be entered into a costume contest for the chance to win a variety of fantastic prizes. Funds from all ticket, merchandise and raffle sales will be donated to support the local multiple sclerosis community.

Paw-lloween Portraits at Healthy Spot

October 16

Who says Halloween is just for humans? Get your furry friend dressed up in their favorite, picture-pawfect costume for Paw-lloween Portraits with Pet Shot Studios, a local professional pet photographer. Tickets are $20 and include a 15-minute photoshoot, 4X6 take-home photo, three hi-res digital photos, a gift bag with goodies, a themed sweet treat and automatic entry into a raffle valued at $169.

Youth Halloween Carnival at Plummer Park

October 22

Join all the ghouls, goblins and creepy crawlers at the Youth Halloween Carnival for a day of kid-friendly Halloween fun! The event will feature a variety of games, a pumpkin patch, trackless train, haunted maze, raffles, dancing and live entertainment. Children are also invited to show off their Halloween costumes in the costume showcase. And, for a fur-raising good time, pets are invited to display their “Howl-O-Ween” best, too!

Rotten Rollin Halloween Emo Night Costume Party at Whisky A Go Go

October 25

An anchor of The Sunset Strip since the early 1960s, The Whisky has welcomed many rock ‘n’ roll legends to its stage through the years, including Janis Joplin, Led Zeppelin and The Doors. This Halloween, you can expect to hear a different type of rock blaring from their speakers at the Rotten Rollin Halloween Emo Night Costume Party – think Paramore, Fall Out Boy, My Chemical Romance and more! The official lineup will be announced soon, but we recommend purchasing tickets well in advance.

Halloween Weekend at Skybar at the Mondrian

October 28-31

Known for its ivy-laden rooftop bar and world-class DJ sets, Skybar is also home to one of the most legendary Halloween parties in West Hollywood. This year, Skybar will host three big events: The Hustle: A Classic Disco Halloween (October 28), The Haunted Carnival (October 29) and their infamous Halloween Party (October 31). Each of these events feature renowned DJs who will be spinning until 2 a.m.. Tickets should be purchased in advance and costumes are strongly encouraged.

Hocus Pocus Dress Up Event at Melrose Rooftop Theatre

October 30

Scary Movie Month culminates with a witchy weekend on the Melrose rooftop! On Sunday, October 30, the Sanderson Sisters are back for a night of toil and trouble with a costumed screening of Hocus Pocus. Whether you consider yourself a Winnie, Sarah or Mary, come dressed in your witchiest attire and enjoy this Halloween classic while sipping cocktails and gazing up at the stars. Melrose Rooftop Theatre will also host a viewing of Practical Magic on Halloween night.

French Tuesdays Celebrates Halloween at La Boheme

October 31

For the 16th year, French Tuesdays is celebrating Halloween on Santa Monica Boulevard at La Boheme, a local hotspot known for its enchanting atmosphere and colorful decor. At this party, you can expect glamor, creativity and endless surprises as well as live entertainment, a DJ, dancing and more until 1 a.m.. Costumes are mandatory and tickets start at $18. Dinner is also available from 7-11 p.m., with or without bottle service.

Fast Times ’80s Concert Experience at Whisky A Go Go

October 31

If you’re craving some tasty waves and a cool buzz on Halloween night, check out the Fast Times ’80s Concert Experience at The Whisky. This event will feature everything you loved about the 1980s, including the fashion, the hair and all of the decade’s top hits. So, grab your leg warmers, leotards and leather jackets and get ready for a Halloween night you’ll never forget!

Halloween Weekend at Rocco’s

October 28-31

Rocco’s will be hosting not one, but three parties this Halloween weekend, all hosted by the Bearded Ladee herself, Billy Francesca. On Friday, drop in for Ghoul’s Night Out, featuring music by DJ Ralphey Ralph. On Saturday, Spooky Sexy Scary features a costume contest and music by DJ Morningstar. And on Halloween, Rocco’s Horror Picture Show brings all the campy musical fun you can bear on a Monday night.

The Halloween party begins at 4 p.m. at The Abbey with Mickey C. and continues into the night with a 9 p.m. set by Sam Childs. This legendary gay bar brings the party every night of the year, so you know Halloween is going to be off the charts.

Halloween Dance Party at Heart WeHo

October 31

You’ll want to go all out on your costume lewk for this event touted as the “biggest dance party of Halloween night.” This hot spot founded by Lance Bass of NSYNC fame took over the space formerly occupied by RAGE last February, and features VIP balconies, VIP seating with private booths and bottle service specials.
