Where the Pro Athletes Play in West Hollywood

If LA is one of the world’s sports capitals, then WeHo is its playground.

Skybar at Mondrian

Home to 11 professional sports teams — the Dodgers, Lakers, Clippers, Kings, Rams, Chargers, Sparks, LAFC, Galaxy, Angel City FC and the LA Knight Riders — with more than 30 combined championships, Los Angeles is arguably the pro sports capital of the world. When we say the industry’s biggest names come here to play, we mean it in both senses of the word; yes, events like the 2026 NBA All-Stars Weekend (February 13–15) happen here on the regular, but the pros don’t need a reason to be out and about in WeHo. Here are a few of their favorite hangs.

Craig’s

8826 Melrose Ave., West Hollywood, CA 90069

This clubby enclave owned by former Dan Tana’s maître d’ Craig Susser is known for its Honey Truffle Chicken, artisan pizza and ever-present paparazzi. Lakers point guard Luka Dončić is a frequent guest; Alex Rodriguez and Michael Strahan have both been spotted here, too, along with a celebrity potpourri that has included everyone from Judge Judy to Madonna and beyond.

Sunset Tower Hotel

8358 Sunset Blvd., West Hollywood, CA 90069

Since 1931, this glamorous Art Deco hotel and its eponymous Tower Bar have attracted a constellation of stars. Back in the day, Hollywood royalty like Frank Sinatra and Marilyn Monroe were regulars; today, luminaries like LeBron James, Serena Williams and Roger Federer reign.

DOGPOUND

627 N. Robertson Blvd., West Hollywood, CA 90069

For visitors hoping to raise the ol’ heart rate in more ways than one, a session at celebrity trainer Kirk Myers’ DOGPOUND is the obvious choice. His challenging, multi-modality classes deliver a vigorous full-body workout set to club-bumpin’ music — and perhaps, if you’re lucky, the chance to catch a glimpse of Travis Kelce and his bride-to-be.

Catch LA

8715 Melrose Ave., West Hollywood, CA 90069

Despite its decidedly earthbound setting, which boasts one of LA’s most Instagrammable garden patios, there are always plenty of big fish at Catch LA — on the menu and guest list alike. Two-time World Series champ Mookie Betts and former LA Galaxy midfielder David Beckham have been seen dining on signature dishes like their Truffle Sashimi and Wagyu Fried Rice.

Cecconi’s

Exterior of the valet driveway entrance at Cecconi's

8764 Melrose Ave., West Hollywood, CA 90069

A tented garden terrace and bougie bistro interior make this Northern Italian eatery a power lunch mainstay — bonus points for booking the private Butterfly Room, presided over by Damien Hirst artwork. Frequent F1 champ Lewis Hamilton has been seen lunching here, and it’s a known hangout for the consistently splashy cast of reality franchise “Selling Sunset.”

Delilah

7969 Santa Monica Blvd., West Hollywood, CA 90046

Dubbed the “unofficial sanctuary for the rich and famous” by Vanity Fair, this luxe and loungy Roaring 20s-themed bistro is only a bastion of discretion if you’re not paying attention. If you’re not great with faces, try clocking designer labels instead; here, they’re attached to names like James Harden, Saquon Barkley, Julio Jones and even coach Sean McVay. In 2024, Serena Williams hosted the ESPY Awards official after-party here.

BOA Steakhouse

9200 Sunset Blvd., West Hollywood, CA 90069

“Chic” and “social” aren’t words one would typically associate with a steakhouse, but Boa resists type in every way. Two pro QBs, the Rams’ Jared Goff and the Bucs’ Baker Mayfield, along with Dodgers infielder Justin Turner, have been known to sup here on standout dishes like the 40-day dry-aged New York Strip and Snow Beef Wagyu — both of which are worth writing home about.

Rainbow District

While they’re not technically professional hockey players, “Heated Rivalry” leads Connor Storrie and Hudson Williams do, in fact, play them on TV — so it’s only fitting that they rep the sporty side of WeHo’s LGBTQ+ scene. The pair recently went bar hopping in the district’s colorful center, stopping in at iconic spots like Hi Tops and GYM Bar, among others.

More Sports Bars & Star-Studded Haunts

  • Katana: LeBron James is said to frequent this upscale Japanese eatery, which serves fresh Robata-grilled BBQ dishes alongside creative sushi and sashimi preparations.
  • Madeo Ristorante: A West Hollywood staple for 40 years, Madeo serves traditional Tuscan fare inspired by owner Alfio Vietina’s “Nonna Tina.” Doc Rivers and Travis Kelce are both fans.
  • Dan Tana’s: The list of Hollywood hitmakers and sports heroes that favor this old-school haunt is as long as — well, Shaquille O’Neal’s legs. He’s just one of its preferred guests.
  • Skybar at the Mondrian Los Angeles remains one of West Hollywood’s most reliable spots for stargazing, both literally and figuratively. NBA All-Star Weekend parties are often held here.
  • Shamrock Social Club, celebrity tattoo artist Mark Mahoney’s ink-and-fashion destination, serves all types: sporty (Beckham), edgy (Depp, Rourke) and iconic (Blanchett, Jolie).
  • Bird Streets Club: On any given night at this private, members-only club, you might see Steph Curry or Davante Adams rubbing elbows with Leonardo DiCaprio and Bad Bunny.
