West Hollywood’s Top Fitness and Wellness Studios

Whether you want to get your sweat on or engage in some deep relaxation, enjoy yoga, pilates, boxing, meditation and more at West Hollywood's fitness and wellness center.

Though West Hollywood is often associated with rock music, dance clubs and late nights, it’s also a prime city for fitness and wellness. You’ll find exercise studios, spas and other opportunities for healthy living, many of which accept drop-ins and don’t require a local membership plan. Here’s how to nourish your mind, body, and soul while you’re in town.

Fitness Studios

Hot Pilates

Add a little sizzle to your ho-hum work-out routine by turning up the heat at this Sunset Plaza-area pilates studio founded by guru Mari Windsor, trainer to athletes, models and celebrities. All the classes from abs to arms are heated to 95 degrees. The workouts incorporate Manduka-brand mat work, bands and weights. Be sure to grab a lavender-scented towel on your way to the shower, stocked with Malin + Goetz products, after the class.

BoxUnion

BoxUnion offers high-energy boxing classes that are all about punching and moving to the beat. Participants gather in a dimly lit studio then mix up rhythmic bag work with body-weight strength training and yoga. The key here is that you never stop moving, guaranteeing you get in your cardio for the day. BoxUnion’s West Hollywood location is in the same plaza as Blue Bottle, so you can reward yourself for a job well done with an iced coffee.

Training Mate

Training Mate is a circuit-based HIIT class founded by a former pro rugby player from Australia. Individual exercises, rooted in cardio and resistance, may incorporate all manner of equipment including bikes, bands, kettlebells and more. The key is that each exercise only lasts for 45 seconds, during which you’re encouraged to push yourself as hard as you can. This means you can get in a great workout while still working at the pace that’s right for you. Training Mate offers both full-body and specific region courses—their legs and glutes class is titled “Thunder Down Under.”

Rumble Boxing Gym

One part boxing gym, one part dance club, Rumble will get your heart pumping and your body moving to a hip-hop beat. Led by impressive athletes that double as DJs and motivational speakers, Rumble workouts are 45 minutes of pure adrenaline, complete with flashy lights, loud music and lots of hard-earned sweat. It’s the ultimate way to pound out any pent-up tension you’re carrying in your body (or mind).
