Sunset Strip: Celebrating 20 Years of Culinary Innovation

Known for its rock and roll history, today Sunset Boulevard in West Hollywood is a prime destination for sophisticated and inventive dining. A driving force behind that is Innovative Dining Group’s (IDG) trailblazing success with perennial dining hot spots BOA Steakhouse, Katana, and ROKU. This June, IDG celebrates 20 years of epic dining experiences along The Sunset Strip and we invite you to pull up a chair.

Craving a quintessential, modern steakhouse? Book a table at BOA, IDG’s first restaurant to open on The Sunset Strip. The lounge-like setting lends a particularly sophisticated air, as you’re enveloped in one of many plush, white and round booths. Or sit on the summery patio facing the boulevard—perfect for people watching. Pair a signature cocktail or world-class wine with a juicy 40-day dry-aged steak rubbed with three kinds of peppercorn and served with house sweet and spicy J-1 sauce. Melt-in-your-mouth delicious! Don’t miss the opportunity to dig into a tender, whole Maine lobster oven-roasted on a cedar plank with a crisp fresh Caesar salad tossed tableside. It’s to die for.

Need the perfect setting for a business lunch? You’ll impress clients at BOA and enjoy international twists on sandwiches, salads, burgers and steaks with a lighter taste for daytime nourishment.

Prefer a sensuous contemporary spot? Drop into one of the most talked-about scenes in WeHo—Katana. Imagine a sexy, dim-lit room adorned with silk cushions adjacent to an outdoor, heated stone patio perfect for celebrity spotting. This restaurant features Japanese cuisine, in particular robatayaki, a cooking method similar to barbecue where skewered bites are slow-grilled over hot Binchotan charcoal. Prepare for a taste bud explosion—the special charcoal delivers a complex, smoky flavor to each skewer.

Feeling adventurous? Experiment with specials from the grill, which offer seasonal and sometimes-rare ingredients. Or choose from two dozen fresh caught fish and seafood on the sushi and sashimi roster. Sit at the bar for a full view of sushi masters at work. Can’t decide? Put your fate into the chef’s hands—for a party of 2 or more, a  izakaya menu will be created especially for you. To see and be seen, Katana is the place.

Up for an interactive foodie experience? ROKU delivers with hibachi dining and a personal chef. Relax in the beautifully expansive and tree-lined courtyard, thanks to a high-tech retractable roof. Choose the lively sushi bar, patio, or the ever-fun teppanyaki tables with entertaining Teppan chefs.

Savor the finest ingredients—including A5-grade (the highest grade available!) Wagyu, Matsuzaka beef and Santa Barbara spot prawns—as well as the expert preparation right at your table. Select from a variety of proteins, from juicy Maine scallops and jumbo Tiger prawns to Chilean sea bass and center cut filet mignon. Don’t pass up a dram of rare Japanese whiskey—the selection here is the best in LA.

Wind down your night at one of the boutique-chic WeHo hotels, just a short distance away. The London is 10 minutes east of BOA (Sunset & San Vicente) and The Standard is a 5-minute walk east of Katana on Sunset. Roku is the furthest west, where Sunset Blvd meets Doheny—a 10-minute Lyft to The Mondrian or Sunset Marquis.
