Selfie Tour: 10 Instagrammable Spots in West Hollywood
West Hollywood is arguably one of the most Instagrammable cities in the world. Just head over down the street to the Instagram-famous Paul Smith pink wall and you will see local bloggers and tourists alike vying for valuable wall real estate. While I agree that this is a great backdrop, West Hollywood has so much more to offer for your social media feed including murals by amazing artists. Be sure to check out my top 10 current faves:
Stop 1: Paul Smith Pink Wall
You may as well start here because as I mentioned, it gets really busy. We suggest an early start to avoid any unwanted photo bombing. Bonus – Carrera Cafe across the street often features a great wall too so this is an efficient use of your “photo shoot” time. One you get this one out of the way, head back to West Hollywood for even more options!
Where to Find It: 8221 Melrose Ave
Stop 2: Dream Big Butterfly
Head west on Melrose for “The Dance of the Butterflies” to visit this inspiring mural by Marisabel Bazan, featured on the sidewall of John & Pete’s Liquor. Remember that early start I mentioned? Get here early because you will compete with cars making a quick stop at this local convenience market featuring an amazing wine selection.
Where to Find It: 621 N La Cienega Blvd
Stop 3: Coffee & Art
Back to Melrose, we will head west to Alfred in the Alley. Visit this venue for a choice of three backdrops (both indoors and outdoors) plus multiple photo-worthy vignettes including the black and white floor for shoefies, the neon sign and of course, your coffee.
Where to Find It: 8509 Melrose Ave
Stop 4: Puppy Love
Head west on Melrose toward Robertson and find “I Ruv You” by @rubenrojas and @sel_dog at VCA TLC Animal Hospital. The artists strive to create a “pleasant interruption” for locals and visitors alike through the work of Beautify Earth.

Stop 5: PUMP Flower Wall
Speaking of dog lovers, head north on Robertson for Lisa Vanderpump’s two WeHo restaurants SUR and PUMP. PUMP features a beautiful floral wall available for selfies. Make sure to check their hours because you may just spot a reality TV cast member while you grab something to eat … especially on weekends.
Where To Find It: 8948 Santa Monica Blvd
Stop 6: Micro-park
Head west on Santa Monica and you will run right into the interactive art installation designed by
Daveed Kapoor of Utopiad and Rob Berry of Berry and Linné. This is part of West Hollywood’s micro-park initiative to create beautiful vignettes throughout the City in unconventional spaces.

Stop 7: #WeLoveWeho at City Hall
To the east (@Sweetzer) lies another micro-park offering titled #WeLoveWeHo. The design firm Moore + Friesl intended for this to be experienced both in person and on social media through its eponymous hashtag.

Stop 8: Pattern Park
Head north to Sunset Blvd to visit the final micro-park installation on this list created by exterior decorator @artofchase. The patterns are playfully vivid and “the colors are intended to give a sense of happiness to the viewer,” he shared with me via DM. This park is also a hub for WeHo Pedals Bike Share program as seen in my pic above.
Where To Find It: Sunset Blvd @ Holloway
Stop 9: Mondrian Mural
Head east on Sunset and see the Mondrian Mural by James Haunt at the entrance to Skybar at the Mondrian. His inspirations include the sexy, poolside parties at Skybar, the hotel itself and Sunset Blvd. Drinks at Skybar or lunch at Ivory are must-do’s after you capture your moment.

Stop 10: Angel Wings
Now it’s time for your own iconic City of Angels photo with “Wings” by Colette Miller. Located on the way to the Riot House Bar this mural is a must-see. After you strike a pose, enjoy a cocktail or a bite to eat while overlooking the strip as countless music legends have done before.
