9 Most Instagrammable Spots in West Hollywood
Perfect your selfie at these picture-perfect locations.
West Hollywood is arguably one of the most Instagrammable cities in the world. Just head over to the Instagram-famous Paul Smith pink wall and you will see local influencers, bloggers and tourists alike vying for valuable wall real estate. This is a great backdrop, but West Hollywood has so much more to offer for your social media feed, including murals by amazing artists. Here are our current faves in and around WeHo.
1. Paul Smith Pink Wall
You may as well start here because as I mentioned, it gets really busy. We suggest an early start to avoid any unwanted photobombing. Bonus: Carrera Cafe across the street often features a great wall too, so this is an efficient use of your “photo shoot” time. Once you get this one out of the way, come back to this list for even more options!
Where to Find It: 8221 Melrose Avenue, Los Angeles, CA 90046
2. Grab a Coffee—and Snap a Few Pics
Just steps away from the pink wall is Carrera Café, where you can take photos and fuel up for the rest of your tour. This sunny, black-and-white tiled shop sells sandwiches, salads, adorable pastries, and other breakfast and lunch fare. The menu’s most photogenic items, however, are their lattes, which take latte art to the next-level by stenciling an image of your choice in the foam. This may include cute animals, funny phrases, L.A.-inspired art, or the very on-the-nose ‘Do it for the Gram’ stencil, complete with Instagram’s camera logo.
Where to Find It: 8251 Melrose Avenue, Los Angeles, CA 90046
3. Puppy Love
Head west on Melrose toward Robertson and find “I Ruv You” by @rubenrojas and @sel_dog at VCA TLC Animal Hospital. The artists strive to create a “pleasant interruption” for locals and visitors alike through the work of Beautify Earth.
Where to Find It: 8725 Santa Monica Boulevard, West Hollywood, CA 90069
4. PUMP Flower Wall
Head north on Robertson for Lisa Vanderpump’s two West Hollywood restaurants, SUR and PUMP. PUMP features a beautiful floral wall available for selfies. Make sure to check their hours because you may just spot a reality TV cast member while you grab something to eat, especially on weekends.
Where To Find It: 8948 Santa Monica Boulevard, West Hollywood, CA 90069
Head west on Santa Monica and you will run right into the interactive art installation designed by Daveed Kapoor of Utopiad and Rob Berry of Berry and Linné. Kaleidoscope is part of West Hollywood’s micro-park initiative to create beautiful vignettes throughout the city in unconventional spaces.
Where To Find It: Santa Monica Boulevard & La Peer Drive, West Hollywood, CA 90069
6. “You’re All Welcome Here” at City Hall
The City Hall mural “You’re All Welcome Here” by Mike Stilkey illustrates the city’s all-inclusive joie de vivre and celebrates its people, their spirit and energy.
Where To Find It: 8300 Santa Monica Boulevard, West Hollywood, CA 90069
7. Pattern Park
Head north to Sunset Blvd to visit the final micro-park installation created by exterior decorator @artofchase. The patterns are playfully vivid and “the colors are intended to give a sense of happiness to the viewer,” he shared with me via DM.
Where To Find It: Sunset Boulevard at Holloway Drive, West Hollywood, CA 90069
8. Mondrian Mural
Head east on Sunset and see the Dirty Pop Mural by Michael Turchin at the entrance to Skybar at the Mondrian. His inspirations are traditional pop elements with a tongue-in-cheek twist. Drinks and bites at Skybar are a must-do after you capture your moment.
Where To Find It: 8440 Sunset Boulevard, West Hollywood, CA 90069
9. Angel Wings
Now it’s time for your own iconic City of Angels photo with “Wings” by Colette Miller. Located on the way to the Riot House Bar at the Andaz hotel, this mural is a must-see. After you strike a pose, enjoy a cocktail or a bite to eat while overlooking the Strip as countless music legends have done before.
Where To Find It: 8401 Sunset Boulevard, West Hollywood, CA 90069
