Cavatina

It’s not every day you have dinner with Julian Lennon at the table to your left and one of the Jonas Brothers dining on your right. But, hey, welcome to Sunset Marquis’ Cavatina, created by famed Boston chef Michael Schlow. Schlow (one of the most recognized chefs on the East Coast and a James Beard Award of Excellence winner) has put together an unforgettable dining experience with Cavatina, his first venture on the West Coast.

Lucques

Delight in Suzanne Goin’s seasonal California-Mediterranean menu at Lucques. She won the 2016 James Beard Award for Outstanding Chef and for good reason; she and award-winning sommelier Caroline Styne create perfect taste sensations.

Night + Market

Kris Yenbamroong of Night + Market brought home the Food & Wine Best New Chef title in 2016. Despite no formal culinary training, this tastemaker’s hip joint dishes out the most authentic Thai food in West Hollywood. Night + Market also has a sizable wine list with an emphasis on natural wines and, in 2019, was named a James Beard finalist for Outstanding Wine Program.

Catch LA

When hot spot Catch LA opened in West Hollywood, The Observer said this snazzy seafood house turned LA’s dining scene up to an 11 out of 10. Chef Andrew Carroll’s dishes are nuanced and glamorous—perfect for you and the restaurant’s sexy celebrity clientele. His favorite dish is reportedly the truffle sashimi.

Tesse

Chef Bill Chait has had a hand in many of Los Angeles’ most celebrated restaurant openings, including Bestia, Otium, and Republique. With Tesse, he partnered with French chef Raphael Francois and wine director Jordan Ogron to bring a sleek, modern European restaurant to the Sunset Strip. The menu features an extensive charcuterie and cheese selection, plenty of provocative mains, and a solid list of cocktails, wines, and spirits. The adjacent bottle shop, Boutellier, sells a vast selection of wines, with many high-end and exclusive choices.

Rosaline

This modern Peruvian restaurant is helmed by Chef Ricardo Zarate, who took Food & Wine’s Best New Chef award in 2011. The restaurant is named for Zarate’s mother and serves a mix of classic and ‘street food’-style Peruvian cuisine—much of it vegetarian and/or pescatarian-friendly—meant to be shared with your dining companions. Try something off the ceviche menu, perhaps in the exceptionally pretty attached greenhouse.
